Stark-Designed Spider-Man Gear Revealed

Having caught a brief glimpse at the new Spider-Man in Captain America: Civil War, a new Peter Parker looks set to swing onto screens in his own upcoming stand-alone film Spider-Man: Homecoming.

Luckily, the first Spider-Man: Homecoming Trailer appeared back in early December, so we’ve already gotten a peak at Parker’s new gear. It looks like it’s largely going to remain the same, with some cool new add-ons making an appearance.

In a new video uploaded to twitter by the Spider-Man page, some of the suit’s feature have been pointed out. An upgraded webshooter, a GPS tracking system and expressive eyes will make an appearance. Also appearing are web wings, which look set to allow Spider-Man he ability to glide into (or away from) any situation he deems needs it.

The short video highlights the new suit designed by Tony Stark. Luckily, it’s still reminiscent of the more traditional Spider-Man gear we’ve become accustomed to.

Some concept art which was meant to feature at the end of Captain America: Civil War, showed Spider-Man using his holographic wrist display for social media. Looking at a message from Stark, he was told “swing by the tower, got some upgrades you should see.” Whilst this didn’t quite make the cut, maybe we’ll also be seeing this feature in Spidey’s new outing.

Whilst plot points for the new movie are still somewhat hazy, it looks like this isn’t going to be just another origin story. It seems that the MCU producers have agreed that it would be much better to just get moving.

That being said, it’s likely that homecoming is going to feature a more ‘coming of age’ story, hopefully one which sets up this new addition to the MCU for some future sequels.

Michael Keaton looks set to feature as the villainous vulture, who’s mechanical wings and criminal tendencies are likely to land him in trouble. Keaton has been quoted as saying that “It’s fun to think that if Spider-Man is a regular kid who becomes a superhero, there’s got to be a bunch of regular guys who become supervillains, too.”
