The first Destiny 2 trailer is here. Entitled “Rally the Troops” the trailer sets the scene for the upcoming war with the Ghaul.
In addition to the trailer, Bungie revealed the official synopsis for the upcoming release:
Humanity’s last safe city has fallen to an overwhelming invasion force led by Ghaul, commander of the brutal Red Legion. He has stripped the city’s Guardians of their power, and forced the survivors to flee. You will venture to mysterious, unexplored worlds of our solar system to discover an arsenal of weapons and devastating new combat abilities. To defeat the Red Legion and confront Ghaul, you must reunite humanity’s scattered heroes, stand together, and fight back to reclaim our home.
Destiny 2, for those who have been living in a cave, is Bungie’s (the same developers behind the Halo series) long awaited squeal to their 2014 smash hit, Destiny. The original saw players take up the role of a Guardian, a protector of Earth’s last safe city. The Guardians wield a power they refer to as Light in their battle against numerous alien races who would see the last city fall. Although receiving mixed reviews with IGN giving it a 7.8 and GameSpot a 6, Destiny was well received by fans and is considered a worthy successor to Bungie’s last franchise, Halo.
Destiny 2 will be available for purchase on 8 September, 2017.
Destiny 2 Trailer Teaser
If you haven’t seen it yet, the Destiny 2 trailer teaser with Cayde-6 (who is voiced to perfection by Firefly’s Nathan Fillion) shooting the breeze with a robotic bartender is great. The scene teases an amazing sense of humour that we are desperately hoping will make it into the game because we loved it!
