After months of speculation as to who would be cast as Cable in the upcoming Deadpool 2, Fox have confirmed that Josh Brolin has been given the role.
This latest announcement comes after an exhausted search by the production team with Stranger Things star David Harbour, Michael Shannon, and even Brad Pitt being rumoured to have been considered for the role. Brolin has reportedly secured a four picture deal to play the fan-favourite X-Men character, Cable. As a result, the 49-year-old actor will become the first to play two active roles within the Marvel Universe, with this latest role adding to his upcoming performance as Thanos in Avengers Infinity War.
Never one to miss on the opportunity for the perfect Tweet, Deadpool lead Ryan Reynolds took to the social media platform to share his own unique take on Brolin’s duel casting.
The fuck, Fox! You can't play 2 characters in the same universe!! Josh Brolin was in Sicario and I was in Sabrina The Teenage Witch. pic.twitter.com/AQCRp1aWKg
